Howsoever as being very useful for us, Google has been dirtied by some websites which plan on getting paid by using the traffic of Google (these websites are also called “Spams”). So, these directories find a solution for this problem. And thus, they are more trustful. Because in these directories, only real people view the websites. Not robots as in Google. And they add your websites into these directories for real.
It’s very important to get your website recorded into these directories. Because search engines support them. And specially having your website recorded in a directory makes it get indexed faster.

From this address, you can reach DMOZ which is supported by Google. If you can get your website recorded in DMOZ, you can make it get indexed very fast.
Not being known that much by people, websites like DMPZ have a lot of users. And they can send their visitors to your websites directly.
While getting recorded in DMOZ, you have to specify your category very good. This may take some time. But try to spend time on this and try to view/learn how your competitors recorded their websites. It is really hard to be recorded in DMPZ. TO success this, try to check these criteria:
- Is your website’s content different in its own category?
- Does your website have a better design when you compare with other websites?
- Is there any grammar mistake in your website? (this is really important)
- Has your application got any information that has nothing with your website?
- Is your website one of the best in its own category?
- What are the features of your website that makes a difference?
